ABOUT GUILD CHOCOLATES
Guild Chocolates is inspired by William Morris, the Victorian writer, artist, craftsman, designer, social activist, and printer.
An outstanding figure of the British Arts and Crafts Movement, William Morris railed against the Industrial Revolution and saw one of its effects as producing shoddy, inferior goods. Morris turned to the past, specifically the Gothic period, to influence his work. During the Gothic period, craftsmen used quality materials, focused on design, and produced goods by hand. The skills these craftsmen possessed were passed from generation to generation through trade guilds. During the Arts and Crafts Movement, many craft guilds were established to revive these skills that had been abandoned during the Industrial Revolution. Guild Chocolates follows Morris’s tenets. By producing fine chocolates by hand, with a strict attention to quality and detail, Guild aims to create unforgettable taste experiences. Questions? Contact [email protected]
